Looking for the best agency in the modeling industry? There are many agencies in the industry but it is hard sometimes how to find the best ones and how to get their attention. The better the agency the bigger the jobs and brand names you can get jobs with. Unfortunately, in this industry, it is all about who you know and the connections you have, however, if you have enough drive and are determined to have a name in the industry you can make anything possible.

Top agencies in the country have signed models who work with some of the best brands in the fashion industry such as Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein, Versace, and many others. So who are the top agencies?

There are many agencies out there but the best is IMG, Wilhelmina, FORD, and MMG. These agencies have signed the top models in the industry as well as celebrities.

Now, how do you grab the attention of these agencies? In my podcast, I talk about the traditional way of grabbing their attention by sending in a portfolio and digitals. The traditional way may work for you, however, it is much more than just that to really grab their attention and possibly sign you. There are other ways of getting your foot in the door into an agency.

What is the key ingredient in order to gain their attention? Social Media. Today, social media has taken over most industries. Fashion brands have been created and formed on social media apps as well as discovering models all over the country can now be done through social media. IMG has a campaign where girls all across the world can use the hashtag #WLYG (We Love Your Genes) to possibly grab the attention of an IMG agent or manager. Even though there are hundreds of girls and aspiring models who use the hashtag, do not be discouraged. Many models have been discovered through this hashtag and if they believe you fit what they are looking for, expect a message soon. A model, Lameka Fox, followed those rules, used the hashtags in her photos and shortly was discovered. Today she is a Victoria Secret model who has graced Victoria Secret’s runway multiple times.

When walking into an agency, a big plus is having a great number of followers on a social media app such as Instagram. When I walked into MMG, I had over 20,000 followers on social media. Today, I have grown another 10,000 followers from signing with MMG. Having a big following shows an agency that you have people interested in your look and your lifestyle, which gives an agency the impression that you have an engaged audience already interested in you. Overall, it makes the agency look better when signing an already recognizable face from social media, which in return gives the agency a great name and exposure as well.

What do you do if you have a small following on social media? It is okay, no need to fret because you can always grow. In order to grow, you have to have posts that are interesting or would interest an agency. Try to post as much as possible because that will gain peoples attention. Post any work you have done with other companies or brands. Post pictures of your everyday life, selfies, anything that will grab the attention of people interested in things of the modeling and fashion industry. While my family gathered around the Thanksgiving dinner table, I realized how grateful and thankful I truly am for each and every person that is in my life. From family to friends, it is important to realize how lucky you are to have people in your life that love you and care for you greatly. That being said, I decided to show my cousins who are not from New York around my town. I live in Garden City, New York. It quite a big town filled with many schools, a college, and one big mall. While driving around town I decided to show my cousins that schools that I had attended while growing up in Garden City. There are many schools in my town since Garden City is so big. There are different schools based on your home location in town. Basically, whatever school is closer to your house that is the school you attend. When it comes to the middle school and the high school, that is when the whole town emerges into one school, which is why these schools are massive.

 

We started our drive-by Homestead school. Homestead is a school for kindergarten to first grade. I moved to Garden City when I was six, so I was only able to go to this school for first grade.

 

Following after that, we drove over to my elementary school known as, Stratford. This school used to be Garden City’s High School way back, but now it is an elementary school for children in second grade to fifth grade. This school is huge and the backyard where we would have recess in enormous.

 

Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to see my middle school since it was out of the way for us, but we did get to see my high school. The architecture of my high school is wide but very flat as well. Our football field has recently gotten redone and is known as Warren King Field. On this field is where field hockey, football, soccer, and lacrosse are played. I was a member of Garden City Varsity Kick line where we performed during halftime at football games on Warren King Field. On this field, I also sang the national anthem several times for various games.

 

It was great getting to show my cousins where I went to school, which brought back a lot of memories. Check out the video above to see our little trip around town!

 

This podcast talks about all things Victoria Secret’s fashion week. Victoria Secret’s is a major American designer of women’s clothing, lingerie, and beauty products. Once a year, the world’s top models come together to walk the runway in Victoria Secret’s newest designs. From Candice Swanepoel, Jasmine Tookes, Taylor Hill, and Behati Prinsloo, this new season of models taking the runway are quite surprising.

Victoria Secret’s selects only the best of the best in the modeling world, usually signed to top modeling agencies and as well as the models being foreign. This season, Victoria Secret’s has shocked their fans with certain selections. A model that was chosen for this years show, was Sofie Rovenstine. Sofie is a 19-year-old college student who is a former Miss Tennessee Teen USA and is signed to JAG Models. Although JAG Models is a great agency, it is not one of the more premier ones such as IMG, Wilhelmina, or Ford. Sofie is also 6’0 and her measurements are not the same as other fellow Victoria Secret’s models. The talk about her being booked for one of the greatest jobs in the modeling industry, is that she is a breath of fresh air. She is different, new, and not the “typical Victoria Secret model”. I believe she gives hope and inspires young girls who do not fall into the stereotypical ideals of the “perfect body type” for Victoria Secret. This overall is not only a big step for Victoria Secret, but for the fashion and modeling industry as well!

 

This year’s midterm elections were a big deal for those who were concerned over controversial issues such as immigration and health care. From celebrities to influencers, people were being encouraged to vote and to speak their voice no matter your political beliefs or position.

On November 6th, Americans nationwide voted on who they believe should be representing their state in the Senate and the House of Representatives. After a long day of voting, finally the votes were counted up and the results were in. Democrats have control over the House of Representatives while Republicans have control over the Senate.

Once the results came out, the president tweeted about how he is happy and feels the results were overall successful! He showed how he was thrilled that Republicans took control over the Senate.

 

 

Many were surprised over how happy the President was since the Republicans did lose control of the House of Representatives and it could potentially affect Republicans and President Trump’s agenda for America.

Shortly after these tweets, the president declared electoral corruption, claiming that signatures in Arizona do not match. He states the possibility of a new election and to ensure that we all must protect our democracy.

Recently, ABC news stated that Trump has called the ballots in Florida “massively infected” and demands a recount. Many Democrats believe that Trump is hurting the country and affecting our democracy because Trump is stating these “facts” with no proof! People also believe that Trump is pushing his agenda and believes that recounting would push for Republicans to take back control of the House of Representatives, angering Democrats.

Could this potentially be a republican motive? If the ballots that are recounted turn out to be a Republican winning, I believe many Democrats will be angered and may even believe that the ballots were corrupted for the pure benefit of Trump’s agenda.

What can the people of America do now? Unfortunately, all we truly can do is sit and wait for America’s decision to decide if they will recount these ballots. As stated before, Trump’s claim that these ballots were corrupted, has no evidence so it is unclear whether or not they will even begin to debate to recount these ballots or even have an entirely new election. It is important to keep in and mind and to hope that president and those who would be recounting the ballots have America’s best interest at heart.
